LIONS V KING'S LYNN, PREVIEW

LEICESTER are looking for a handy home win as they go up for the cup at the Paul Chapman and Sons Arena on Monday (7.30).

Simon Stead’s men face King’s Lynn in the first leg of their Knockout Cup tie with the return in Norfolk on Wednesday.

The Watling JCB Lions, who opened their campaign with a tense win over Somerset last week, are unchanged with the rider replacement facility in operation for the injured Josh Bates.

Stead said: “It’s important for us to pick up a home win to take into the second leg at Lynn.

“Hopefully we will benefit from the workout we had last week, this will be Lynn’s first meeting and we need to capitalise if at all possible.

“We’re without Josh again which leaves us a bit short so we’ll keep an eye on that situation as it develops.

“It should be a good meeting because King’s Lynn have signed some good riders in the winter, particularly Niels-Kristian Iversen of course, it’s good to see him back in British racing.”

King’s Lynn hand a debut to Kasper Andersen for his first meeting in British Speedway and Ty Proctor also makes his club debut.

Talented British youngster Robert Lambert has been appointed skipper of the Tru Plant Stars.

LEICESTER: Martin Vaculik, Josh Bates R/R, Danny King, Krystian Pieszczek, Hans Andersen, James Sarjeant, Kyle Newman.

KING’S LYNN: Niels-Kristian Iversen, Lewis Rose, Ty Proctor, Thomas Jorgensen, Robert Lambert, Kasper Andersen, Lewis Kerr.
